My hands are holding you...

Robbie and Emily are married!!!!

Robbie is one of Andrew's buddies from E-2

We are so happy for the Jordan's! They are an amazingly wonderful couple.

The wedding was at a church in Bryan and the reception was under a tent at this amazing pecan grove in Caldwell. Everything was beautiful!

Here they come!

Their first dance was to By Your Side by Tenth Avenue North. I LOVE that song!! If you haven't heard it before, google it.

Here's one of my bf's, Lindsay Durr. She lives in North Carolina and I miss her.

This is James Mulvey. He's my dancing partner at most weddings. Ladies, he's single and amazing so act fast!!!!

And now for the beautiful bride and groom!!! and no...Andrew and I did not plan to match. I didn't even realize what tie he brought until we got to Bryan.

Chasing the Cheese

So a few of the couples from our weekly bible study decided to do something a little different....we went to the racetrack!!!

I have never been before and didn't know what to expect. I pictured fancy people cheering on their horses with passion! I kinda wished I could have worn my peacock hat from my bridal brunch but decided against it. Luckily I didn't. I guessed wrong. Most of the people there sat inside and just watched on the tv....almost like they were watching some boring sitcom. Passion and cheering was no where to be found. Well, except for us!!

We bet big and usually bet about $2 a race.

Danielle won the first race!

We got really serious when we found out you got place a 10¢ bet on guessing the first 4 places in a race.

Andrew and Trevor won the last race that everyone was there for (Andrew and I stayed behind for one more). Trevor was holding up a "5" in celebration of horse number 5 winning....Andrew thought he wanted a hand shake of some sort.

So they tried again...

Yay for fun times in Houston!

Prunes Wrapped in Bacon

So this past Thursday instead of starting our new book for bible study we had a basketball/eating party at our place. Whoop! It was pretty fun. My dad was here and grilled a bunch of stuff including prunes wrapped in bacon...don't knock til you try it!!

Here's the lovely group!

My Dad and then Andrew.

Trevor making "boat drinks" and the boys waiting to drink them. This is also when I called Trevor, Travis.

Listening to the "Colby Thomas Band". Look them (?) up on myspace.

It was quite a lovely evening....except for the dishes. I hate doing dishes...

Hai Hai

So I'm not very good at keeping this regular...but at least I'm better than I was before!!

So what have I been up to? Well...should I give it all in one post or split it up a bit?

I'll split it up..

So about a week ago my dear old friend Hailey got married! Hailey was one of my roommates sophomore year of college.

This is her amazing dog Brody...he's ginormous!!

He was at her lingerie/bachelorette slumber party. We had dinner at a wine bar, saw Sex & the City 2, and then on to Hailey's parent's house for snacks, presents, and karaoke.

Here's the Bride & Groom!!

and of course the Aggie War Hymn

Hailey and me before they left!

I am sooo happy for the two of them! They are living in Katy. I hope they can come have a little married couples BBQ at our place sometime. Being married is pretty cool.

Catch up...

So I thought I was going to be better with this thing!!

A lot has happened since I last posted. We had visitors, a car was totaled, I went to Atlanta and I started a new job! Lets get started!

Ms. Ann (the bf's mom), Nanny (Ms. Ann's bf), My mom, Rachel (the bf) and Evan (the bf's husband) alllll came to help me decorate our new home! I am so blessed to have such great friends!!

It still has some work (art on the wall, shelves need to be installed, and there's stuff laying around). Aren't they awesome?!?!

Well the first night of that awesome weekend just my mom, Nanny, and Ms. Ann were there. Before I went to bed I told my mom that I set the house alarm so that if she opened the door she would have time to turn it off. Well, at about 3:15ish that morning I hear my mom open the door and I can hear her talking to someone. I'm thinking "what in the world is going on?". I tell my mom to put in the code before the alarm goes off and she says "Meredith! Someone hit my car!!".

uh oh...

Well I go outside and this is what I see...

Hmm..how did that happen because my Mom's right side of the car was along the curb...AND Nanny's car was right behind my mom's and didn't have a scratch on it...then I see this...

Do you see that faint line in the grass? Those are tired tracks. yes. She drove on the side walk in front of my house, missed Nanny's car, took out my mom's, and finally...

(picture taken once the sun came up)

My poor mom!! She got this car for her 50th birthday maybe 8 months ago? can't remember!

It was a long night! We are greatful no one got hurt and are praying for an easy process with the insurance companies!

Let's try this again...

Well...guess I failed at the whole blog thing. But have no fear!! I have time to actually give it a whirl again!

You see...I had this job that required me to work 45-50+ hours a week while I was doing school. I had no life. I couldn't be a wife (cook...clean...laundry...). I couldn't blog. You name it, I probably couldn't do it.

Well, about a week ago the job ended on good terms and I start a new job June 1. Soooo I am about a week into three weeks of bliss! I get to cook, clean, have lunch with friends, work in the yard, go running, go to HEB at 3, read...you name it I can do it. Doesn't mean I actually am doing those things but I could if I wanted and it makes allll the difference!

My new job is going to be great. It will be about half the hours and I won't start until 2:30 (3:30 in the fall) so I will still be able to continue to do wife things. I won't get out until 6:30 so dinner might be a later but I will still have plenty of energy. Before..I would get home, fall on the couch, and pretty much just stay there.

It's a good thing I have all of this time on my hands because Andrew and I bought a townhouse! woo! So there is a lot of decorating and organizing to be done. I know what yall are thinking...Meredith? organize? Have no fear! I have called in the troops for battle! Ms. Ann, Nanny, my mom, Rachel and Evan are allllllll coming this weekend to help. I am beyond blessed!!!! I will post before and after pictures after the weekend.

Well...let's hope this blog thing lasts a little longer than the last attempt.

yay!

well...I am finally doing it...I'm writing an entry for my blog.

So Andrew and I married 5 months ago on January 3, 2009. It was a fabulous wedding with all of our favorite people. After our honeymoon in Maui, which was just fabulous, we moved into our apartment in the galleria area of Houston. After 5 months, I only have one thing hung up on our walls (a painting Pops did) ...o and 2 things in the bathroom, but that's it. I know I'm behind.

For the first 2 months, I unpacked and wifey things while looking for a job. Not really the best time to look for a job...so I applied with a nanny agency and was set up with a family. I don't feel comfortable using their names on the world wide web without their permission so I will just use initials. C is a 3 year old boy and A is a 6 year old boy....and boy....are they a hand full! I work 50 hours a week and it's a lot of work but very rewarding.

Andrew has been working with Frost Bank since last June and just loves it! He is so blessed to be at a bank that is doing so well during these hard times. He is in a training program to become a commercial lender. Right now he is doing credit analyst stuff for the lenders. I'm not really sure how it all works but I think that's about right.

About a month ago, maybe more, Andrew started a softball team with other frost guys that have the same position as him. Then a few weeks ago Andrew joined a men's softball team with the church and I joined a coed team with our sunday school class. I really have no idea what I'm doing...but I don't seem to be too bad. Last thurdsay I was the third person to trip running to third base and I have a nice strawberry because of it. This is just all so new to me.

Since we got married we have been to about 4 Astro's games, a hockey game, saw Legally Blonde: the musical, The Wizard of the Oz: the Musical, and Swan Lake. I have also been to the zoo and the children's museum and museum of natural science. Houston may be frustrating at times but it has soooo much to offer!

We have been attending Second Baptist and are members of the Nearly Wed/ Newly Wed class for engaged couples and couples within their first year of marriage. We really enjoy our class but haven't really made any friends yet. We attended the contemporary service that Ben Young (Ed Young's son) usually preaches at. I never thought I would like going to a HUGE church...but it seems to really fit with where we are in our life right now.

I don't know how many of you know, but I lost my wedding band on Memorial Day/Andrew's birthday. We were at the park to celebrate his bday and brought along gloves and some softballs. I couldn't put my mitt on with my 2 rings so I put them in my purse. Later that evening, only my engagement ring was in my purse. I wasn't too upset becuase I was pretty sure it was insured and I was really relieved that it wasn't my engagement ring. I also thought that it could be in Andrew's car or our apartment. Well, we never found it and found out that it wasn't insured....I was sick...and still devestated about it, but it is just a ring....and let me tell you i will NEVER lose a ring again! Right now I am wearing my grandmothers ring until we get a replacement but it still won't be the same.

Well this entry is getting kind of lengthy...but I will make more!
